Why can’t a replacement nominee get vetoed when there’s a special power in play? I thought you could veto anyone on the block

Recent houseguests have said they did not have access to Big Brother seasons in sequester (and were disappointed because they planned on spending some time during sequester watching them)

They now get limited streaming services it’s not just DVD and they also get BB seasons to watch in sequester lmao

This is my personal opinion on who are the top 50 one time big brother players. This was trickier to do compared to multi-time players due to these players playing once, hence a smaller sample size. But I decided to commit to this regardless.
I’m watching big brother 10 for the first time this year! I’ve seen almost every season from 12-27 and finally have had time to go back to the older seasons on my watchlist. As a fan, I knew that Keesha’s birthday was such a memorable moment. I just didn’t have any context. WOW. Jessie stirring the pot! Libra and Keesha dealing with their separate grievances while April juggled both arguments. Jerry trying to direct some of the ladies anger towards Memphis. Memphis getting offended by this, seconds after he was goofing off, and going to confront Jerry. Renny desperately trying to make peace and celebrate Keesha. Michelle getting pissed off because everybody is fighting for no reason. Dan LAYING on the couch completely uninvolved. A funeral dirge of Happy Birthday. Silence. ANYBODY WANT CAKE? More screaming! As a Kindergarten teacher, this really felt like a day at work. Seeing it play out was such a treat. Looking forward to finishing this season!
It doesn’t necessarily have to be someone you like, but someone you’d love to either align yourself with or compete against. Maaaybe controversial, but I’d actually love to play alongside Dick, for the simple fact he’s an excellent strategist. Aligning myself with someone with his mindset would be interesting. As for competing against a past houseguest, I think it would be fun to compete against someone like Eric Stein. He was smooth-talking and a good strategist, but I feel he was also very beatable, which is a rare combination.
It’s no secret that the biggest and crazy thing to happen was obviously Rachel‘s elimination, however I would argue that Rylie‘s eviction and that entire week is truly what changed the trajectory of the entire game because all of the pieces had to align and fall into place and they did.
Would you rather have a game full of geniuses (but they all play with no fear) or a game full of bad players (for maximum chaos) In other words: a cast with 16 dans or a cast with 16 tuckers
I’m kind of wondering who are some of the most strategic players in big brother. Let me know in the comments.

Watching Vanessa on the feeds was incredible. She just had a way of disarming people with her emotions. She was able to smell bullshit from a mile away and even use that to her advantage and call them out straight to their face with no hesitation and she almost always got the truth once she made it clear she knew someone is bullshitting her. Those accusations when done publicly also made her look more credible in general and paint a bigger target on them for being untrustworthy. Her pointing out when people were lying to her also scared many into her submission and gave her nothing but truthfulness after, with no or minimal blowback to Vanessa ever. She was the ultimate gamer and always strategising whether in bed by herself or with others. It hit like crack watching her sway people in real time with her emotions or with just sole strategy. She was instrumental in almost every eviction, playing a hand in them whether she was hoh or not.

Agree with this. Will truly laid the blueprint for how this game is played, still to this day. His and Nicole’s chats were definitely instrumental. Danielle and Jason expanded it even more the next season and then so on. Ton of players from those early seasons deserve credit, but i genuinely don’t think the game evolved how it has without Will.

I feel like this move is one of the more debatable bad moves in BB history. Like it isn’t one of those moves where it was like “you make this move you win, if you make the other move you lose.” But it wasn’t smart. He would’ve been guaranteed final 2 if he evicted Diane over Nakomis. I think part of the reason people forget about this move is because he still ultimately made it to the final 2. I also don’t think he had any real win equity up to that point so it wasn’t like a case of a really good player making an error that cost them the win. I will say, evicting your own half sister to go to the final 3 with a showmance is… a choice Let me know your thoughts?

Oh no I didn't think you were saying in judgment! I just wanted to give a bit more context to what you said since BB5 is one of my favorite seasons :)
u/stun4starlight / 0 upvotes
I’m not saying it in a way of judgment. I surely wouldn’t want to meet my ex or estranged family member on this show. It was just speculation I’ve heard from others that watched the season in real time as to why he voted her out.

Just a general question, do you think Julie is a good host? I'm a very new watcher to this reality TV show and I like how Julie kind of accepts being in the background compared to the actual cast that is in each season. I've seen some shows where the host tries so desperately to make themselves a prominent person in the show and I like how laid back Julie is. She's just there to do her job and she has done that for 27 seasons now. She adds just enough personality to not be a brick wall but she also pretty much never steals the spotlight from what I have seen at least. IDK maybe I'm off base here but I appreciate that. Was wondering how others felt about it.

I think she has been pretty good the last couple seasons . Imo the block buster got her interested in the show again

She very clearly doesn't watch the show. I would love to see Britney (BB12/14) host, or at least have unlocked. Her commentary is great.

Hi y'all I am so excited for BB28 and have been watching as many Big Brother video essays as I can to fill the void! I am trying to make a comprehensive list of long-form videos that aren't based on ranking things (ex. ranking winners/seasons/twists etc.) or compiling things (ex. '50 Big Brother conspiracy theories'). I've put below all of the videos that I have watched, and please feel free to comment any others so I can add it to the list! ^ Also don't comment direct links to videos since it will break Rule 5! Rewatching this season now and it was before I got into the live feeds (I was only about 15 when the season aired, so I wasn’t allowed to watch those lol). But some of the trashier stuff has me curious, specifically the Dustin/Joe drama. Don’t get me wrong — they’re both very irritating, but I’m curious if there are any dramatic things between them that we didn’t see on the TV version? Any juicy fights? We got enough of their story to have a segment about the guy who got between them but little else.

Watched IRL and within the last year and it still baffles me. Everything in my head says Dani should’ve won but there had to be something with the Donato’s, beyond her fling with Nick, that really changed the jury’s votes in her dad’s favor. During the recent rewatch, I was pretty impressed with Dani’s game. She was slept on by the other houseguests.

From what I remember watching it (19 years ago!), Joe was liked by lots of people in the house but Dustin was part of the Late Night Crew so he was DOA.

BB history is layered with evicted HGs who were initially nominated as pawns but were either evicted because the house flipped against the HOH or were caught in the crossfire as the house split itself into two factions. Any good examples of such instances? I think last season Adrian and Will were good examples of being collateral damage
For the first week, Have Nots are determined via comp. Second week and beyond, Have Nots are determined via a new rule: While voting, if you speak without being prompted to, you are a Have Not for the week. Yes, even if you become HoH. This means if you make shout outs to people, you are on slop. The HGs will NOT be told this until a few weeks have passed. Once we have one week of no shout outs when casting votes, then HNs can be determined another way. But if the shout outs start again? Whoever does it gets to pay for it with one week of slop. To further discourage shout outs, the HN room will never close and will be the single most uncomfortable one EVER.

honestly this show needs to do away with have-nots because they add nothing and it just makes for worse feeds
u/TheRealKindaMothra / 0 upvotes
Have nots should be used sparingly..... and it should be something they fail at completing. Like make them walk 100 laps a day. If they dont......they are a have not. Slop needs to GO!! Its just not healthy for people to starve themselves to avoid it. Or have it be 3 days a week. Cold showers 3 days a week...... and just make the have not room have no beds. Just a thin mattress on the floor. Sleep is necessary for a healthy life. Comfortable sleep is necessary for a healthy back/neck and spine. Forcing them into a go car or a spiked wavy bed is just dumb! And equally NOT good for them.

Back in the days where it didn't take some alcohol for some crazy fights. THIS WHOLE COMPLIATION IS PURE CINEMA. The Kevin vs Ronnie fight was CRAZYYYYYY.

Season 11 fights don't compare to season 10!! I think it comes down to a lot of season 11s house guests are just not that likable... Russell just comes off like a bully
u/scottyk318 / 0 upvotes
I feel like if Russell played in today's era of BB, he'd be ripped apart on social media. He constantly liked getting in people's faces because he would not back down or was seeking to gain a 'mental edge'.

Just wondering bc the bbcan ig was amazing with content, as I know it’s a different TV network that is reviving it, I would love for the account to become active again

I think if they were using the official account they would have posted something yesterday.so I guess we have to wait and see

I have an incentive to catch up now... so excited. I hope they keep the tradition of the NA rule set and not the international version cause that dull

I think by doing this you would allow people some time to talk amongst themselves and then later the vote count is revealed or perhaps you can make it so there is some way to find out the vote count, or the vote count is only told to the nominee that survived the block, meaning they can tell anybody else they feel like. I feel like people don't throw rogue votes as often because immediately after the eviction someone immediately finds out or thinks they think they know who the vote is, seeing as how there have been a lot of evictions where people immediately think they know who the vote is or immediately have a reaction. Dan in BB10 is a really good player but he wasn't able to save Brian most likely because Brian's friends didn't wanna commit to saving him. He was able to save himself since he's a really good player. I think giving players time to process the eviction before revealing the vote count and then having the vote count perhaps have to be found out via some method (being told by another person, etc.) since information is important in this game. While I do like blowups immediately after evictions, I think it's more fun during the week since either viewers can catch the drama on the feeds or on the episodes since there's barely any time in the live show anymore to show drama. I think hiding the vote count is a good idea but if it the vote count is NEVER revealed then it's missed potential for drama. Obviously if there's a tie then none of this really matters but at least a tie is usually exciting. I'm not sure when you would reveal it but if you guys have any good ideas I'd love to hear them! The drama with Eric and Kail never would have never happened if they didn't know someone cast a second rogue vote (ok maybe the flying banner gives it away lol)

Agreed, I know this has been talked about for years and maybe can be tried, but I don't exactly know how much it's going to work. I would have said try it after BB 25's season of unanimous votes, but the last two seasons haven't been too bad for those types of votes (only five combined and even two of them were just 2-0 votes).
u/Material-Cat-3076 / 0 upvotes
They can always lie about the vote count. It's not like a power where you have to say the truth. That wouldn't really be a great idea, but if you're Elissa from bb15 all of a sudden you have a lot more power

And if you haven’t seen it go watch now! What’s your favorite moment, or game move, or anything about BBCan?

Could Derek X be apart of the season? He posted a really subliminal post about going on a 30 day hiatus from his job.. 👀
